Zety is a website that offers complete resume making services. Apart from resumes, you can also create CVs and cover letters. The number of templates it offers is limited, but they are customizable, which means there are plenty of options from which to choose. After choosing a template, Zety then helps you build your resume step-by-step.
The resume maker is pretty powerful and offers a great degree of control without being overwhelming. You can customize almost every section of the resume in detail while using the preview section to see how the final resume will look. After you’re satisfied, you can download your resume, or create a unique URL to make it available online. If you choose to host your resume, you’ll get access to analytics about who’s viewing it.
Zety has three pricing plans. The Start plan is $5.99 per month. It includes four resume templates, as well as unlimited resumes and PDF or TXT downloads. All of Canva’s graphic design tools are available for resume making as well. That means you can add elements, shapes, custom images, or more to your resume. It’s not meant for complete beginners but surely can help you create a creative, standout resume.
Canva’s free plan is probably all you need for creating resumes. You get 1 GB of storage for photos and other assets, as well as access to thousands of templates (that includes resume templates along with dozens of other categories). There is a $12.95 per month Canva for Work plan that includes thousands of free photos, more organizational tools, and team collaboration. But if resume-building is all you’re after, you won’t need it.
Best for Inexperienced Resume Creators and Industry-Specific Resumes: Kickresume
Kickresume claims to help create resumes that get people hired. They offer plenty of resume templates on their site, which are helpfully organized by industry. For first-time resume creators, the sample resumes listed are useful since they are samples from people that actually got hired. Kickresume also features an interactive resume maker, or you can import your resume from LinkedIn instead.
The free plan lets you access three basic resume templates and one basic cover letter template, so it’s really just a way to see if you like the site. They also have a monthly ($15) and annual ($48) plan, both of which get you over 30 resume templates, 20 cover letter templates, an unlimited number of resumes and cover letters, and real resume examples.
