If you’re a YouTube fan, you might appreciate new channel recommendations or the odd notification when your favorite YouTuber posts a new video. If you’d prefer to disable these notifications, though, you can do so on iPhone, iPad, and Android devices.
How to Disable YouTube Notifications on iPhone and iPad
While it’s possible to disable notifications on an iPhone or iPad, YouTube allows you to be much more selective. In the YouTube app, you can enable the notifications you want to see and disable those you don’t.

To get started, open the YouTube app, and then tap the account icon in the top-right corner to open the YouTube Account menu.
In the Account menu, tap “Settings.”
In the Settings menu, tap “Notifications” to see a list of available YouTube notifications for iPhone and iPad.
Tap the slider next to each notification to enable or disable it. Notifications with sliders in blue are enabled, while notifications with gray sliders are disabled.
If you want to limit your notifications to appearing only once a day, tap the slider to enable the “Scheduled Digest” option at the top of the list. You’ll have to tap the option name to set a notification time.
Once these changes are made, the settings will apply automatically. Tap the back arrow to return to YouTube.
How to Disable YouTube Notifications on Android
Like its iPhone and iPad counterpart, the YouTube app for Android notifies you when the channels you follow post new videos. It also alerts you to video recommendations, any replies to YouTube comments you’ve made, and more.
You can disable notifications for YouTube entirely in your Android device’s Settings menu, but this will likely hide all of your notifications.
